appliance, making it an outstanding value for small-to-mid sized networks.
With integrated support for SonicWALL's Gateway Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware and
Intrusion Prevention Service, the PRO 2040 provides real-time protection
against viruses, spyware, worms, Trojans and other malicious threats.
Powered by SonicWALL's next-generation SonicOS firmware, the PRO 2040 is a
comprehensive network security, mobility and productivity solution offering
the configuration flexibility and redundancy features typically associated
with more expensive appliances.
Available as an optional upgrade for the PRO 2040, SonicOS Enhanced adds
powerful business continuity and flexibility features including ISP
Failover, WAN Redundancy and Load Balancing, Object-based Management,
Policy-based NAT and a fourth user-defined port. With the upgrade to SonicOS
Enhanced, the WAN and LAN ports stay static while the other two ports are
fully customizable as a second LAN, a second WAN, a DMZ, another customized
network zone, or a Hardware Failover port. The PRO 2040 also integrates
high-speed gateway anti-virus, anti-spyware, intrusion prevention, content
filtering, stateful firewall and IPSec VPN for added layers of protection,
and can be managed by SonicWALL's award-winning Global Management System.
